If you are new to photography and interested in taking great pictures without much fiddling with the settings, the Nikon D3100 is for you. It is a basic simple camera in which Guide Mode feature teaches you about the art of photography. Whether you are shooting a delicately composed still life, everyday snapshots or full HD movies, the D3100 produces images with exceptional quality and rich dramatic colours even in low light settings. It has inbuilt 14.2 megapixel, 18-55 mm zoom lens and maximum ISO of 3200 (expandable to ISO 12800 using the Hi 2 setting). With good composition, perspective skills plus and eye for light you a can take amazing professional photos. This camera includes some editing tools such as, distortion, correction, fish- eye effect, crop, colour balance, red- eye correction and classic filter. The video mode of this camera has an excellent quality image with high resolution.
Recently I have bought a Nikkor 55-200 mm zoom lens to go with it and lens hood for taking excellent image in sunlight. It was difficult to choose one out of two 55-200 mm lens or 55-300 mm lens. But after a lot research I bought 55-200 mm ED VRII. The best part of this lens is the vibration reduction and auto focus. My Nikon D 3100 doesn’t have inbuilt focus motor and hence this lens is my choice as it has focus motor which helps in auto focusing the subject. This is a wonderful tele photo zoom lens particularly for wildlife photography. Lens hood reduces lens flare and also project the lens from damage. Overall, Nikon D3100 is an excellent camera for beginner, you can learn all the basics as well as advance features of photography.
